Tint Removal

There are a variety of reasons why you may opt for window tint removal.  Perhaps you just purchased a used vehicle with bubbled and discolored tinting.  You may have been stopped by law enforcement for illegal tinting and given a repair order to either remove the tint or have a legal tint installed.  When installed properly, window tinting will last the entire life of the vehicle, but if your lifestyle changes, your window tinting should change with it.  Transitioning from a cool mac daddy to a responsible husband, married with kids may mean that you opt for a tint with a higher VLT.  Whatever your reason for tint removal, Raleigh Window Tint Pros can remove the polyester film within a couple of hours. 

Layering
Some of our customers ask if they can save time and money by installing new tinting over the old one.  Tinting material is constructing of layers of dyed polyester.  Although there is an adhesive surface, the characteristics of the material do not allow us to place new tinting over the old one.  If you’d like to replace the tint, a more effective approach is to have the original tint peeled off, window cleaned and prepped, then apply a new tint.  Chances are that when the original tint was installed, dye and chemical compositions were limited.  Take advantage of the advances in technology by having a new and improved tint installed. 

Installation Time
Prepare to drop your car off and Uber to your next destination.  The average installation takes two to four hours.  If you are patient and have time to kill, you are welcome to relax or get some work done in our comfortable waiting area.  We have coffee, tea, donuts, electrical outlets and a T.V. for your entertainment and convenience.  The amount of time it takes to complete an install is dependent on the size of the vehicle and desired placement location.  Full sized trucks take about an hour and fifteen minutes.  If you’re only interested in tinting the two front doors, you can expect a 30-45 minute wait time.  If we’re removing old tint before a new application, add an additional two to four hours. 

Cost
Window tinting costs vary widely and are dependent on the type of tint and placement.  A complete limousine tinting will be more costly than a tinted windshield for a Mini Cooper.  The type of tint you choose is a major cost factor.  Higher end tints are constructed with advanced technology to enhance your vehicular enjoyment experience.  If opting for ceramic tint embedded with nano technology, expect to pay more than if you had selected traditional dyed tint.  Spectra Photosync tint possesses high perforation designed for maximum visibility.  It also has a solar adapting nano coating combined with infrared ray rejection coating.

Maintenance
Vehicle window tinting is designed and installed to last for the entire life of your vehicle.  Our tints are backed by a lifetime warranty.  Preserving your investment is key to extend the longevity of your tint and to maintain your comfort.  Do not roll your windows down for 24 hours to allow for the tint to cure.  Wait one week before cleaning the interior windows.  When cleaning, use a window cleaner without ammonia.  Foam cleaners are recommended for a streak free clean and they typically don’t contain ammonia.  Never scrape or clean your tinted windows with an abrasive.  It will damage the tint surface and decrease its lifespan.
